Hi , has any one got it working with a Ellard Athena roller door controller ?

It has a remote with up / down buttons

Garadget uses a single button control for opening and closing.  
Does wireless remote have a single button control?

Unfortunately not . It has an up and down button on remote

Can you recommend a controller that only uses one button ?

Most of residential openers are single button controls and there are a lot of choices. I would look at what’s available in your home improvement store or online and meets your other requirements.
