Trying to set up a 2nd device on an existing account that already has 1 device working fine.
Plugged in the new unit. Found the “Photon” Wifi, jumped on that, put in my local Wifi credentials, it went through all of that and looks like it was proceeding normally (slowly-blinking cyan indicator light) but the app just says the server needs to confirm the new device (it’s a second device on our account) and never does. It just errors out. So from the app side of things, this looks like a server-side issue.
Tried everything else I could related to Wifi - turned off our 5mhz network, made sure channel was set to 20Mhz, etc. and still nothing. Everything points to a server-side issue with registering the device in the app.
App works fine for our existing device that we put in a couple years ago. I’ve logged out of the app and back in, and re-completed the full setup routine (including a 10-second hold of the M button) 3 times now. No change in the results. Everything proceeds along as expected until the final server-side confirmation of a new device.
Hi! I can’t seem to get the local web interface to respond. The light is slowly pulsing cyan, and I’m pretty sure I’ve tracked down the IP address I have locally – but I’m not able to get a web interface to respond per the claim device page instructions. The ID reported in the app while it was trying to set up was 2E00****3530 and I found a device on my network that has registered that exact hostname. But trying to get a web interface up on port 80 doesn’t yield anything. Is it a different port? NMAP scan of the device shows no other ports that responded. It has a MAC address of E0:4F:43:7A:58:D7 if that’s of any help.
This unit was not in the system (must have been inactive for too long). I’ve added it.
The WiFi access point is only available in the setup mode, but since your unit is already connected to the home WiFi there is no need for it now. Please access the web interface on the server from the link in my previous email and claim the device by the ID.
I’m not sure your back-end changes made any differences. I’m still not able to add that ID (thank you for redacting) in via the claim.php page, and my unit is not presenting a web UI on that IP address at the moment. I’ll try to do a full re-install later today and see if that works.
Hey just wanted to circle back and let you know that it worked after I did a full re-add, the 2nd door is now visible in our system. Thanks for the help!
The Garadgets are not what they used to be, mine are both now redundant as I was advised this was due to incompatibility with Android advancements and Garadget have no plans to catch up so probably become a widespread issue for many more current garadget users.
