I have the liftmaster 3850, will I need any special stuff to do the install or will it hook right up. Been looking for a wifi opener and the first two I looked at said they weren’t compatible with my opener. Seems like the MyQ one does but seems very limited in tech and charge extra for voice integration. Thank you for your responses.
The manual says this opener model is Security+ so it should be directly compatible. Garadget connects to two terminals on the left (red and white) along the existing wires from the wall console.
The ones requiring a workaround are Security+ 2.0 - those with yellow “learn” button.
thank you for the reply. I will have to give it a try. I would really like to be able to check the status of the door with my phone and also open or close it with Alexa.
