Band steering on my modem used to do this to me, yours may be a different problem but you could try turning band steering off in your modem if it has this feature. Just google the make of your modem for instructions if you are unsure about it.
Having similar problems when I am not connected to my home Wifi. If I leave the house the app status will show as offline, when I return it will take 10-20 mins then its online
